Kanpur is one of the important cities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The city is spread over an area of 1040 Sq.Km. The population of the city is about 24 lakhs as per 1991 census.
Air:The city of Kanpur has its Airport at Amausi, Lucknow. It is about 65 Km from Kanpur. From Amausi, flights to NewDelhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Patna and Varanasi are available. The Indian Airlines office is situated at Civil Lines opposite to MG College.Rail:Kanpur is well connected by means of Rail to all important cities in India. Road:By road Kanpur can be reached from any direction of the country. Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Agra are well connected to Kanpur. Kanpur city is in the national Highway No 2 on the Delhi –Agra- Allahabad- Kolkata route and on National High way No 25 on the Lucknow- Jhansi – Shivpuri route.
